Residents at Cadbury Hall care home in Yatton have been busy celebrating National Carers' Week.
The celebration, which took place between June 10 and 16, allowed them to say thanks to all the staff at the home, acknowledging their hard work and dedication.
National Carers' Week is an annual event aimed at raising awareness about carers, spotlighting their challenges, and acknowledging their invaluable contribution to UK residents, families, and communities at large.
This year's theme, 'putting carers on the map', aimed to emphasise their societal significance in an election year.
A series of enjoyable activities were set in motion by Cadbury Hall residents.
Staff were treated to a range of chocolates from Cadbury, as well as pizzas from Domino’s and other treats throughout the week.
Another heartwarming gesture was the distribution of compliment slips.
Residents expressed their gratitude towards the care staff via these mini notes, a small but impactful thank you for their efforts.
Audrene Abrigo, general manager of the Barchester Healthcare care home, said: "It is so wonderful to be able to celebrate Carers Week and thank our fantastic carers with treats throughout the week, and to be able to welcome the community, relatives and friends.
"Everyone has had such a brilliant week."
While Jenny, a Cadbury Hall resident, gushed over their surprise day, saying: "We’ve all had such a lovely time today, it really is a joy to be able to thank our wonderful carers for all that they do.
"They really are heaven sent."
The celebration is a part of Cadbury Hall's life enrichment programme, which keeps residents active and provides a daily choice of physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to their interests and abilities.
