A SMALL fire on the roof of a building in Nailsea town centre involved “freshly laid felt”.
Firefighters arriving on the scene on Wednesday afternoon (June 19) said the fire in the Brockway area, near the Scotch Horn Leisure Centre, involved “freshly laid felt”.
A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue said: “On arrival, crews found one small fire on the roof of a building involving freshly laid felt.
“Crews used a triple-extension ladder and hose reel to extinguish the fire.
“Also in use were thermal imaging cameras and a battery-operated fan for smoke clearance.
“The cause of the incident is thought to have been accidental ignition.”
