The Mollie Young Memorial Swimathon raised a whopping total of £14,383.
It took place at the Parish Wharf Leisure Centre, an outing that paid tribute to the beloved Mollie Young, who tragically passed away in July 2023.
For 20 years, she was instrumental in organising Rotary Community Swimathons.
President Tim Mason nominated two main charities which would profit from the proceeds.
The Bristol & Bath MND Group aids locals affected by Motor Nuerone Disease, offering vital support meetings, advice sharing, financial assistance for equipment and more.
While The Jessie May Trust, based in Bristol, provides specialist care for terminally ill children in the comfort of their own homes, giving precious time for families to spend together.
Schools and youth groups involved will equally benefit from the Swimathon's proceeds.
Portishead Rotary Club extended their gratitude towards the event's supporters.
A spokesperson said: "The club wishes to thank the business sponsors whose donations covered the pre-Swimathon costs and members of the Clevedon & Portishead Triathlon Group ( PACTri ) whose members helped Rotary run the event on the day.
"Finally the Rotary Club wishes to thank the wonderful support from everyone at Parish Wharf Leisure Centre for their help beforehand, on the day, and after the event".
