The first ever Community Pride Event in Nailsea is coming this summer - and it is completely free.

The Ring O’ Bells pub in is co-hosting the event, which takes place on June 8 from midday until 6pm.

All members of the community are welcome to this vibrant celebration of diversity and inclusion.

It is part of a series of three Community Pride Events happening across North Somerset.

The other two events will take place in Portishead on June 23 from 12pm to 6pm at Portishead Youth Centre, and then in Clevedon on June 29 from 12pm till 6pm at the Old Inn.

These events are the brainchild of the North Somerset LGBT+ Forum, a registered charity whose aim is to support and connect the LGBT+ communities of the district.

Friends, families and allies of the community are also encouraged to participate.

North Somerset Times:

The Community Pride Event series coincides with Pride Month, which runs from June 1 to June 30, 2024.

This annual celebration recognises the influence and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community, celebrating diversity and the right to live without discrimination.

The Ring O' Bells event promises an enjoyable atmosphere, with final arrangements for the vast array of entertainment soon to be announced.

Expected attractions include artisan stalls offered by local independent sellers and a bouncy castle for the children.

North Somerset Times:

The landlords and landlady of the Ring O Bells, Ian Hammond, Nathan Hammond and Debbie Allen, shared their enthusiasm for the event.

They said: "This is the first-ever Pride event in Nailsea, and we want the event to grow year-on-year and become a bigger and bigger celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and Nailsea.

"We are passionate about making our pub a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community and this event is our celebration of diversity and inclusion."

Alongside this, other events are scheduled across North Somerset and all details can be found on the North Somerset LGBT+ Forum website.
