A Clevedon volunteer group celebrated World Water Day by clearing The Land Yeo river and received a £250 donation.
The Land Yeo Friends worked with Hydro International, a Clevedon-based corporation.
Personnel picked litter along the river bank and presented the group with a cheque, which will help with insurance, maintenance, and equipment costs.
Beginning at the Scout Hut at 9.30am, workers and volunteers collected three substantial bags of single-use plastic, metal cans, and bottles from the river.
The amount, while troubling, has notably decreased since the 2000s, when large skips were deployed.
The Clevedon residents are praised for their ongoing river conservation efforts.
Later, volunteers cleaned and stored the equipment, and responsibly disposed of gathered waste at the local amenity site.
