WORK has started on the new Changing Places facility at Portishead Lake Grounds.
The accessible toilet facility is designed for people with limited mobility or specific disabilities and care needs.
Speaking yesterday (Monday, April 15), a Nature and Climate North Somerset spokesperson said: "Reminder: Work begins today on the Changing Places facility at Portishead Lake Grounds.
"These toilets are designed to be accessible for people with limited mobility, or specific disabilities and care needs.
"They’re larger spaces, and are fitted with all the equipment that carers and users will need.
"By building a Changing Places facility, we’re helping make sure that everyone can come and enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Lake Grounds.
"The facility will be conveniently close to the Lakeside Café, and we’ll be starting work today. We should be finished by the end of June.
"This work has been made possible thanks to funding from the government’s £30 million Changing Places Fund scheme."
