PATROLS have been carried out across North Somerset to tackle irresponsible dog ownership.
Public Space Protection Orders require owners to carry a poo bag and not walk more than six dogs at a time, to name a couple of the rules you must follow.
Failure to comply could lead to a fixed penalty notice being issued to you.
Speaking last week, a Safer Stronger North Somerset spokesperson said: "The Community Response Team are on patrol across North Somerset tackling irresponsible dog ownership.
"If you are in charge of a dog anywhere in North Somerset, the Public Space Protection Orders (PSPO) require, at minimum, that you must:
"Keep your dog(s) under close control at all times;
"Carry a poo bag;
"Bag it and bin it, please don’t fling it;
"Keep your dog(s) out of all children’s play areas;
"Not walk more than six dogs at a time.
"There are other PSPOs across North Somerset which mean there are areas where dogs are not allowed, including children’s play areas, some beaches and sports fields and in and around marine lakes. There are also other areas where dogs must be kept on leads at all times."
