Foster carers from Clevedon have been the focus of a celebrity photographer's special collection.
Rankin, who has worked with Kate Moss and the Queen, has turned their attention to a Somerset couple for a project celebrating diversity in fostering.
Carole and John McIntyre, both 73, have been fostering for the last thirteen years.
The pair was chosen by Rankin and the National Fostering Group as part of their 'Faces of Fostering' project, which aims to raise awareness of fostering and dispel outdated stereotypes.
Mr and Mrs McIntyre said: "People often assume that because of our age we’d be too old to look after children and foster.
"But on the contrary, we’ve found that fostering has given us a new sense of purpose and has enriched our post-retirement lives."
The project comes amidst research indicating that misconceptions are preventing many from considering fostering.
48 per cent of people in the South West of England, for example, believe they wouldn't be eligible to foster, including those who identify as being LGBTQ+, disabled, single, semi-skilled and unskilled, and 55+.
This figure rises to 49 per cent amongst those of the same groups across the UK.
Commenting on the campaign, Lynn Webb, regional director for London, the South West and Wales said: "Rankin's remarkable photographs brilliantly capture the varied faces of foster care, underscoring the importance of diversity in fostering.
"30 new foster carers are needed in Somerset so it’s crucial that individuals from all walks of life consider fostering and step forward."
Fostering children often come from a diverse range of races, religions, and ethnicities.
Experts argue that diversity among foster parents can greatly benefit the children, particularly when they are paired with carers of their own religion or culture.
Rankin said: "This photo shoot was a celebration of diversity, compassion, and the extraordinary individuals who open their hearts to foster care.
"It was a joy to capture the essence of people from all walks of life, each sharing a common desire to make a difference in a child's life.
"If you're considering fostering, reach out to National Fostering Group – they will guide you through the process."
