A YATTON care home has been praised for operating a safe and well-led service following a Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection.

Run by Barchester Healthcare, Cadbury Hall Care Home was inspected in November 2023.

The report, which was published in February 2024, explains how people feel positive about their experiences with the High Street facility: "People were positive about their experiences of living at Cadbury Hall.

"They told us at times, there had been challenges in relation to staffing and they had found this difficult. However, this was improving and people felt able to speak with staff or the registered manager if they had any worries or concerns.

"People and their relatives told us, 'I can’t praise it enough, staff handle him well, they accept the challenge of looking after a person with dementia', and 'I think that she is safe, she is happy there, she says that it is a bit like being on holiday'.

"People and their families were involved in discussions about their care and support. There was also opportunity for people and their families to give their views and opinions through surveys, meetings and suggestion boxes.

"Equality and diversity was taken in to consideration when planning ways in which people wanted to be supported. This included, for example support to attend church."

The inspectors also felt that the staff and manager of the home were committed in providing the best quality care.

One staff member said: “Morale is really good here and we all work together as a team.  We have regular staff meetings where everyone is kept up to date with new developments and we are asked for our views and opinions.” 

Residents were also very complimentary about the home. One commented: “I find this place really good, I feel safe.  The staff are very supportive.” 

Another said: “The care is really good, we have wonderful activities and the staff really listen to us.  The staff take me to my local church services and to church activities.” 

Cristina Iliuta, general manager at Cadbury Hall Care Home said: “We are absolutely thrilled that Cadbury Hall has been rated ‘Good’ following the CQC’s most recent inspection.

"It is fantastic to have the hard work and dedication of everyone here recognised, we have a wonderful team and I am incredibly proud of each and every one of them.”
