A POPULAR North Somerset playground has reopened following a temporary closure to allow for the installation of new rubber mulch surfacing.
Contractors arrived at Backwell Playing Fields in West Town on January 10 to install rubber mulch surfacing under the play equipment in the park by the Scout Hut.
Posting on Facebook yesterday (Tuesday, January 30), a spokesperson from the Backwell Playing Fields Charity said: "Playground open again!
"We are very happy that the playground is open again after the installation of our new rubber mulch surfacing last week.
"Many thanks to our contractors #iaplaysolution for doing such a great job!"
Speaking before the closure, the charity told the North Somerset Times: "Backwell Playing Fields Charity is excited that the new surface will make the play area more accessible for the community all year round."
The charity works tirelessly to maintain the grounds for the use of residents. It aims to provide leisure and recreation activities to local people of all ages.
