AROUND 2,000 trees have been recycled as part of Noah's Ark Zoo Farm's Christmas Tree Recycling Scheme.
People from the region and its surrounding areas were prompted to donate their real Christmas trees after the festive season.
The trees have been used as a source of enrichment for many of the zoo's residents.
A spokesperson from the Wraxall zoo farm said: "As our 2024 Christmas Tree Recycling Scheme comes to an end we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated their trees as well as our partners Glendale Services and North Somerset Council!
"We managed to recycle around 2,000 trees.
"These trees have already started to be used across the zoo, the chippings being used as sensory enrichment allowing animals to forage for food with some of the bigger trees being used to create fun temporary additions to enclosures!"
