ON Christmas Eve, police stopped 14 cars, breathalysed three drivers and made one arrest on a road in Nailsea.
Officers from the North Somerset Neighbourhood Policing team spent an hour and a half on Hannah More Road as part of Op Tonic, their seasonal campaign to tackle those who drink drive or drive under the influence of drugs.
Hannah More Road is situated close to numerous pubs, meaning that people often take the risk of driving under the influence.
Posting on Facebook on Sunday, December 24, a spokesperson from the North Somerset Neighbourhood Policing team said: "Today officers from the #NailseaNPT conducted an Op Tonic - our seasonal campaign to tackle those who are drink and or drug driving.
"Based on Hannah More Road in Nailsea, we spent one and a half hours stopping 14 cars in total, breathalysing three and making one arrest for drink driving."
