A North Somerset property specialist has been named as the new chairman of Experts in Property.

Andrew Simmonds, of Parker’s Estate Agents, based in Backwell, is taking over the role from Cornish former estate agent, Steve Moir.

Mr Simmonds is a qualified surveyor, RICS registered valuer and a member of ARLA, NAEA, NAVA and the IRPM, and has over two decades worth of experience in the field.

While Mr Moir, who first served as chairman from 2001-2006 and then again from 2009, has now retired after 14 years at the helm.

Mr Simmonds said: "I’m excited to have been elected to take the role as chairman of the Experts in Property.

"It’s a great organisation and Steve has done a fantastic job.

"We’re all very sad to see him leave and wish him all the best for his retirement."

Experts in Property, established in 1980, is a network of independent agents with member offices spanning across Cornwall, Devon, West Dorset, Somerset, Bristol, South Gloucestershire and eastward to Ringwood and Christchurch.

It serves as a non-profit organisation, run by agents for agents.
