A YOUNG motorist has been banned from driving for speeding on the M5 at Clevedon.
Tristan Jay Carroll pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared at North Somerset Magistrates' Court on Wednesday (October 11).
The court was told that Carroll, 26, of South Clive Street, Grangetown, Cardiff, was clocked travelling at 87mph in a 70mph zone at Junction 20 of the motorway on February 19 this year.
He was given three penalty points on his driving licence, taking him over the 12 point limit for a ban.
Magistrates disqualified him for six months.
He was also fined £40 and ordered to pay a £16 victim surcharge, along with £90 prosecution costs.
The total court bill must be paid off at the rate of £20 a month.
