A NORTH Somerset animal sanctuary is on the lookout for experienced foster carers to help raise litters of young puppies.
The Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary can be found in Barrow Gurney. The charity cares for sick, abandoned and neglected animals.
Posting on Facebook, a spokesperson from the sanctuary said: "We are hoping to find some experienced foster homes confident raising litters of young puppies.
"Experience of hand rearing would be helpful. We have had some recent requests to help litters of puppies, too young to come into the sanctuary or be fostered individually.
"We are looking for potential foster homes that can provide a safe and quiet environment with the time available to care for a litter of young puppies.
"You would need to be able to transport the puppies to our vets in Portishead in case of an emergency.
"All equipment, food etc can be provided and we cover any medication or treatment costs.
"Fostering a litter is a big commitment but very rewarding, you will be helping ensure the puppies have the best possible future despite an uncertain start in life.
"If you think you might be suitable please email the sanctuary in the first instance giving some information about your experience and current circumstances (info@hollyhedge.org.uk)."
