WESTON'S Blakehay Theatre has announced two Christmas shows to help residents get into the festive spirit.
This will be the first year that the theatre will be producing a Christmas Show and have decided to do two.
The theatre team have joined forces with two professional companies to showcase adaptations of two favourites, which will run from December 4 until December 23.
Local company Living Spit will dazzle audiences with their comedic take on A Christmas Carol. The two-person performance will make you laugh out loud.
Bristol actor Craig Edwards will play the mean-spirited Scrooge, whilst Clevedon actor Stu Mcloughlin will play all other parts.
The show's description reads: "The Blakehay Theatre and Living Spit are delighted to bring you 'the alternative' Christmas show this festive season!
"Hard hearted Ebenezer Scrooge hates the season of goodwill until a visit from three spirits one Christmas Eve makes him rethink his... blah blah blah.
"We all know the story. We’ve all seen the film(s). But who’s the best Scrooge of all time? Albert Finney? Alistair Sim? Patrick Stewart? Well, just hold your horses there! Because you’ve yet to witness Bristol actor Craig Edwards’ take on Dickens’ mean miserabilist."
This show is recommended for children aged 10 or above. The performance runs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm from December 4 until December 18. Tickets start at £15.00.
If it is traditional family fun you are looking for, then look no further. Bowtie Productions will be performing their pantomime of Jack and the Beanstalk on Friday to Sunday from December 8 until December 23.
The show's description reads: "With the Trott family down on their luck and left with no option but to sell their beloved cow, they decide to take matters into their own hands. Join Jack and his friends on a heroic journey as they climb the beanstalk to face the giant once and for all. Will good conquer evil in this epic adventure, or are they doomed for a life of misfortune?"
Tickets start at £15.00. Family tickets cost £50.00.
Group discounts are available for both of these shows. Tickets can be purchased on the Blakehay Theatre's website.
The Blakehay Theatre is fully accessible for all patrons, and if you would like to book an accessible seat please drop in or call Weston Museum for your tickets.
