A MAN who failed to inform police who was driving a vehicle while believed to be committing an offence has been hit with a court bill of more than £1,000.
Macauley Finn Priestly, 24, of Summerleigh, Banwell, was found guilty of the offence when he appeared at North Somerset Magistrates' Court, in Weston.
He was find £692 and ordered to pay a £277 victim surcharge and a contribution of £150 towards Crown Prosecution Service costs.
His driving record was endorsed with six points.
A further charge of driving on the M5 at 104mph - almost 50 per cent over the 70mph speed limit - was dismissed as no evidence was offered.
Priestly was told he must pay the total court bill of £1,119 by November 30.
