A PERMISSION in principal application has been submitted to build five dwellings in Clapton-in-Gordano.
The plans were validated on Tuesday, September 14, 2023.
If successful, the dwellings would be built on land south east of Clevedon Lane and Wood Lane, between existing dwellinghouses to the northeast and equestrian stables to the south.
The cover letter from the agent, Stokes Morgan, said: "The site is located in the Gordano Valley ward of and the parish of Clapton-in-Gordano, is not within a Conservation Area, and there are no designated or undesignated heritage assets within or adjoining the site.
"The nearest local amenities are to be found at Portishead, with the town centre 2.4km to the north, and Gordano Secondary School within 1.5km, via Clapton Lane, and St Joseph’s Primary School 1.7km away.
"The village pub (Black Horse Inn) lies opposite the site. It is situated within Flood Zone 1 and is shown to be at low risk of flooding."
