THE A303 and the M5 have topped a list of England's best A-roads and motorways.
Results were compiled by independent watchdog Transport Focus, who asked 9,000 road users about their journeys across the country.
Commuters were most satisfied with the M5 due to the speed of their journey, as well as "good traffic flow" and the road "not being too busy" during their trip.
The M5 had the highest satisfaction score of all motorways, at 82%.
One M5 driver commended the effeciency of the roadworks on the motorway: "Clear road and signage was clear for roadworks that were taking place.”
The A303 received the highest satisfaction score of all, at 85%, earning itself the title of the best road in England.
The A27 came bottom of the rankings with a 57% satisfaction score, and the M6 was listed as the country's worst motorway.
Anthony Smith, chief executive of Transport Focus said: “England’s motorways and major ‘A’ roads are at the heart of how many of us move around the country.
"It’s good to see the M5 and M40 perform well.
“As the so-called backbone of Britain, the M6 is a vital route which National Highways must continue to focus on delivering safe, smooth journeys.
"We’ll continue to keep pushing National Highways to improve these issues.”
