A WINSCOMBE parent who failed to send their child to school on a regular basis has been landed with a court bill of over £1,000.
The case against the parent, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was proved in their absence at North Somerset Magistrates' Court
Hearing the case, brought by North Somerset Council, magistrates were told the offences occurred between September last year and June this year.
The child's parent was fined £660 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £264, along with £250 costs.
The total court bill of £1,174 must be paid by the end of this month.
