BACKWELL residents will have a chance to have their say on plans to build over 500 new homes on the western edge of the village.
The Taylor Wimpey plans are due to go on display on September 13. They would see 515 new homes built on land at Grove Farm and Burnt House Farm. 35% of these would be affordable.
The site is a draft allocation within North Somerset Council's local plan and includes land for a primary school and a community hub.
There would also be a nature park and a bus link.
On the western edge of the scheme an extension to the 'festival way’ cycle route is proposed through the green space.
Local people can have their say at a public consultation on Wednesday, September 13, from 2.30pm until 8.30pm at Backwell Women’s Institute (WI) Hall on Station Road.
Team members from Taylor Wimpey will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
