THE 39-year-old man accused of murdering his mother will be remanded in custody until a hearing at the court on July 27.
Gavin Nash, of Tansy Lane, is accused of killing his mother, 64-year-old Lynette Nash. Mrs Nash died in an incident at her home on June 27.
Nash's case was mentioned in his absence at crown court today (July 3). David Maunder, defending, has made no application for bail.
Detective Inspector Neil Meade, the senior investigating officer, said: “Lynette’s family continue to be offered support by our specialist family liaison officers.
“Our thoughts continue to be with the family as they come to terms with what has happened.
“We would like to thank the local community again for their patience and understanding while we carried out our investigation.”
A mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to prior police contact.
