Three employees of Sycamore Lodge Care Home have been shortlisted as finalists in the Care and Support West awards in three categories, which celebrate the dedication of care professionals across the region and acknowledge the positive impact they have on the lives of those in their care.
Sycamore Lodge, which is run by Shaw Healthcare in partnership with North Somerset County Council, provides nursing and residential care for up to 78 people including those living with dementia.
Service manager Barry O’Driscoll has been shortlisted in the ‘Home Manager / Team Leader’ category, whilst Chris Maynard-Pickett has been shortlisted for ‘Chef – Front Line’ and Costin Voicu has made the final cut in the ‘Nurse – Front Line’ award.
Barry said of his nomination: "I’m made up that I have been selected as a finalist but even more so for Costin and Chris.
"Their nominations are testament to their hard work and dedication to Sycamore Lodge."
Regional director of Shaw Healthcare Abigail Katsande further commented on the nominations, stating: "Barry and his team always strive to provide the highest standard of care in a real home-from-home environment."
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony hosted at Ashton Gate Stadium later this year (date TBC).
