Fire and Rescue crews from Burnham-on-Sea were mobilised to reports of a domestic fire in Lympsham, alongside appliances from Avonmouth, Yatton and Portishead at 9.44pm on May 17.
Other attending stations were Taunton, Bridgwater, Glastonbury, Street, Williton, Yeovil, Cheddar, Frome, Shepton Mallet and Wells.
A spokesperson said: "Whilst en-route, Fire Control received another emergency call to state that all persons were safe and out of property, however the roof was now involved in fire.
"Once in attendance, Crews made up for a Water Bowser from Burnham on Sea and Yeovil and additional fire engines from Taunton, Bridgwater, , and a Command Support Unit from Street was also mobilised.
At 22:54 crew stated that the roof was made of slate tile with thatched underlay which was fully involved in fire.
At 01:32 - The restructure of the fire ground is being carried out and incident will be scaled back.
at 01:59 - Crews are at work using 1x 45 jet, 1x main jet, 1x hydraulic platform, 1x 105 ladder and 1x triple extension ladder."
