NORTH Somerset Council are giving away 24 tonnes of compost in honour of International Composting Awareness Week.
The week runs from Saturday, May 7 until Saturday, May 13.
Residents will be able to find and collect their compost at one of two events. Please note that you must bring your own spade and storage to put the compost in. You will need to load the compost yourself.
Here are the dates and locations to make a note of:
- Sunday May 14 – 10.30am to 1.30pm (or until stocks last) at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre, Hutton Moor Road, Weston-super-Mare BS22 8LY.
- Thursday May 18 – 10.30am to 1.30pm (or until stock lasts) at Hangstones Pavilion, Stowey Road, Yatton BS49 4HS.
The compost has been produced from garden waste and donated thanks to Enovert and transferred by North Somerset Environment Company.
Anyone interested in becoming a master composter should email Kate Eastment, Garden Organic’s project coordinator in North Somerset, at keastment@gardenorganic.org.uk.
