An AUTHOR from Nailsea has had her book shortlisted for The Business Book Awards.
Felicity Cowie, a former Royal Television Society Award-winning former BBC, ITV and Panorama journalist, has been shortlisted in the Start Up/Scale Up category for her 2022 book.
The book is titled Exposure: Insider Secrets to Make Your Business a Go-To Authority for Journalists.
The main purpose of the book, which is published by Practical Inspiration Publishing, is to help out new start-ups by offering advice.
This includes how to get as much media coverage as possible to generate awareness of the brand.
The aim of the awards is to celebrate the quality and variety of business books, which appeal to a diverse readership, whether it be people who are thinking of starting their own companies or established businesspeople wanting advice.
Following another year of personal and professional challenges for businesspeople, the 2023 awards cover 14 different categories to reflect the wide range of knowledge and experience required for business success in 2023.
The awards, now in its sixth year, is in partnership with Pathway Group 2023.
Exposure has a foreword written by the UK’s special envoy for fintech and venture capital investor Eileen Burbidge MBE.

It was launched at Waterstones Bristol Galleries last June and following publication Felicity has gone on to teach workshops across the world but locally at Bristol’s Engine Shed, via Set Squared, and at The Hive in Weston.
Felicity said: "As an entrepreneur myself I know it’s so important to gain all sorts of skills which can be right outside your comfort zone, in order to make your business a success.
"The fantastic thing about the Business Book Awards is that they make it possible for businesses to identify affordable expertise and so, for the low cost of a book, can get up to speed on a huge range of skills.
"I really wanted to give founders a toolkit to demystify how to work with journalists so that they could get great headlines which can have a huge impact when attempting to grow a business and attract investment and customers."
Winners of The Business Book Awards 2023 will be announced in London on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.
