CHILDREN and staff at St John's school in Clevedon enjoyed a day of fun and learning in celebration of this year's World Book Day.
World Book Day is celebrated throughout the country every year. This year, it took place on March 2.
The day itself is designed to encourage people to get into reading and develop a greater appreciation of literature.
Schools across the country took part, including St John's. Many children arrived to school, not in their usual uniforms, but dressed as their favourite characters.
The students were also encouraged to take part in a Book Exchange. Children and staff bring a book from home that they have read and that they recommend, and then swap for a new book with someone else.
Children also took part in a competition to create a model of their favourite book or story. Prizes were awarded in the school’s Celebration Praise assembly on Friday (March 3).
