Drivers face penalty points and fines if they fail to clear their windscreens of ice before setting off in the winter.
Rule 229 of the Highway Code tells drivers they must clear all snow and ice from their windows before setting off in the winter.
Failure to do so means they may not have a full view of the road and traffic ahead, which could see police take action for their car being in a dangerous condition.
