TERMINALLY ill children will be helped by money raised at a Christmas grotto next month.
In December, people in Portishead can help to raise money for a Bristol-based charity that supports the families of ill children.
A Santa grotto, complete with a sleigh, will park outside the Old Mill to treat youngsters with festive magic.
This year the group behind the project is hoping to raise £3,000 for the Jessie May charity - which amounts to around 46 hours of nursing care for families in need.
Laura Hoy said: "People might remember us from the pandemic when we towed Santa and his sleigh through the streets, spreading Christmas cheer to the children of Portishead.
"Thanks to the amazing generosity of local businesses, we raised £1,700 for Jessie May.
"Visiting Father Christmas this year will be just as amazing and because we understand everyone is feeling the pinch, we’re allowing family and friends to visit together for a reduced cost making it even more affordable."
A visit, including a hand written invitation, gift and chat with the big man himself, costs just £12 per child.
