VILLAGERS young and old enjoyed a 'successful' flower show earlier this month.
Craftmanship in all disciplines from painters to photographers and bakers was thourghouly 'admired and enjoyed' by all at Long Ashton's 96th flower show.
Residents baked homemade cakes and teas for guests while local businesses donated 'generous prizes' through the raffle.
'Stiff competition' was had in many of the children's categories with some lucky enough to win trophies.
A spokesperson for the show said: "It was great to see a huge number of people turn out for a unique event that brings the whole village together, there really was something for everyone.
"There were also some magnificent pieces on show with the Long Ashton Men’s Shed Chatty Bench, which became a particular hit with visitors of all ages.
"We hope to welcome back even more participants next year when hopefully the sun isn't so red hot."
