A friendly scrabble club is looking for more members to play in their weekly games.

Nailsea Scrabble Club was set up 12 years ago and members meet at Mizzymead Recreation Centre, in Mizzymead Rise, every Wednesday from 2pm.

The majority of players are aged 50 plus and the club is desperate to attract new members to enable it to keep running.

People of any ability can take part and members also enjoy socialising aftwards.

The club plays to the rules set by the Association of British Scrabble Players, with the exception of using timers.

Some of the more ambitious members take part in scrabble tournaments against other clubs.

Nailsea Scrabble Club organises its own tournament in October each year.

Last year more than 60 players from across the country took part and the proceeds were donated to Children’s Hospice South West.
