A rescue centre in Portbury is desperately appealing for foster carers so it can help more abandoned cats in the area.
Tracey Bryant set up Little Paws Rescue at her home to help unwanted and abandoned cats.
The centre, in Priory Road, can take up to about 25 animals, but Tracey has had 44 cats to look after due to a huge demand for new homes.
She said: “There’s a massive demand for rescue spaces and we are desperate for foster carers.
“Getting people to foster is an absolute nightmare. Adoption isn’t too bad, it’s just a slow process, but we are desperate for more foster homes so we can take in more cats. We are constantly struggling for space.
The rescue centre became a registered charity in August so staff can now apply for grants to help with costs such as vets bills and food.”
