Gordano School sixth form students did themselves proud as A Level results this summer showed 21% were at A grade or above, 46% of the passes were in the A*-B range and 74% of all grades were at C grade or above. The overall pass rate was 99%.
Students of Clevedon School were also celebrating good grades at A level, with 14 per cent of students achieving grades A*-A and the overall pass rate being 97%.
Both schools also celebrated a brilliant year of GCSE results.
For the first time in the school's history more than 80% of all GCSE grades at Gordano were at Grade 4 (equivalent to the old C grade) or above, 13% above the national average. 29% of all GCSE grades were at 7 (equivalent to the old A grade) or above, almost 10% above the national average.
Clevedon School received its best-ever maths and English results, with 72% of pupils receiving at least a grade 4 - a baseline pass - in both subjects, representing a 10% improvement on 2018. Overall 68% of Clevedon School's students achieved five GCSEs graded Level 9-4 with 64% of students attaining this with both English and Maths. 16% of student grades were graded level 9-7. n
