SHAW DAVID. It is with sadness that the family of David J. K. Shaw announce his peaceful passing at the age of 87 years, on Monday 7th December 2020, after a long period of declining health. David moved to Easton-In-Gordano in 1966 as a partner in Strange Strange and Gardner, a firm of consulting engineers, and in 1988 he moved to Clevedon. David was a longstanding member and former commodore of Portishead Yacht and Sailing Club, where he was recently granted honorary life membership. In later years he joined the Clevedon Woodcutters, helping to maintain many of Clevedon’s natural sites for all to enjoy. He will be fondly remembered for his humour, keen sense of debate and inventiveness but above all as a committed, generous and passionate supporter of all the organisations he became involved with and as a kind and loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his sons and daughters Daniel, Edward, Emily, Elizabeth, Matilda and Alexander, his brother Richard and former wife Pauline, and eight grandchildren.
