With the continued uncertainty surrounding the latest Covid figures many people will be wondering about whether or not it would be safe to exercise in an enclosed space.
It’s something Jason Eaton, general manager at theclub & spa at Cadbury House in Congresbury, alongside his team of fitness instructors, are fully aware of and is why they are going above and beyond to make sure the region’s leading health club provides a safe place for members and guests to exercise.
The first key message Jason and his team want to get across is the fact that the measures already in place makes theclub & spa a safe place to exercise. Plenty of hand sanitiser stations and wearing of masks are the two more obvious ones, but are key to fighting the spread of the virus.
The second point that Jason wants to raise follows the publication of figures by UK Active and fact that confidence in safety standards remains very high across the health and fitness sector, thanks to the measures put in place by operators.
According to the research, the latest results show an overall rate of 0.83 cases per 100,000 visits, measured from 12 April 2021 to 21 November 2021 – indicating that rates of Covid-19 among people using fitness and leisure facilities remain low.
Jason said: “The measures we’ve put in place plus the publication of this latest research will go a long way to reassure members and the team that theclub and spa is a safe place to enjoy a workout.
“Like before we will operate with measures to ensure we adhere to the advice and regulations as outlined by the Government and industry bodies. This will give our members and guests added confidence that they can use the facilities assured that we’ve gone above and beyond what’s expected in terms of trading safely.
“Priority of course will be the safety of all our members and staff and we take great pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness an hygiene. It means all those who come for a workout, swim, class or bite to eat can do so knowing that they can do so in a safe environment.”
“I know many people really missed doing some form of regular exercise during the first lockdowns as not only is it good for physical health but also for mental well-being so it’s important that we can all maintain some form of exercise regime as long as we are all sensible and stick to the advice.”
